What's all the fuss about?

Dead Sea Minerals
The Dead Sea contains 21 minerals including: Sodium, Magnesium, Calcium, Bromine, Bitumen and Potassium. Twelve are unique to the Dead Sea and are found in no other sea or ocean. Health benefits atributed to the Dead Sea include: imparting a relaxed feeling, nourishing the skin, activating the circulatory systems and easing rheumatic discomfort and metabolic disorders. The Dead Sea has 10 times more salts and minerals than the Mediterranean Sea.

Dead Sea minerals list

Sodium - Sodium ions remove skin scales and improve permeability. After penetrating into the skin, they generate a feeling of suppleness, ideal for of very dry skin.

Magnesium - Magnesium concentrations in the Dead Sea are 15 times greater than in other seas. Magnesium is essential for cell metabolism. Patients with psoriasis have been found to have a significant deficit in Magnesium. Magnesium affects the ripening of skin cells of psoriasis patients. Magnesium also works as anti-allergic agent.

Potassium - improves oxidation and regulates the electrical process of the muscles and the nervous system. Asthma patients have been observed to achieve good results from inhaling the salt vapors.

Iodine - necessary for the production of the hormone thyroxin, and is also vital for both energy and cell metabolism.

Chlorine - necessary to maintain the correct balance of PH (alkaline and acid) in the body. Vital for cell metabolism.

Bromide - Bromide concentration is 50 times greater than in common salts resulting in a marked relaxing effect.

Bitumen -
Besides other Dead Sea Minerals found in smaller amounts, the salt contains a natural tar called Bitumen which acts as an anti-inflammatory agent.

Calcium - strenghtens cell membranes and cleans the pores. Vital for production and maintenance of healthy teeth and bones. Regulates the heart muscles and nerves.

Zinc - serves a role in enzymatic regulation of cell proliferation.
